Surgery and Your Cat

When your pet needs surgery, you need to know that we take this very seriously. We at Veterinarian Care.us love seeing the smile on your face when you know your pet has made a safe recovery from surgery. For each individual patient, surgery is a well choreographed and endlessly rehearsed procedure. We examine each step of the process in detail, plan every action, and prepare for any turn of events. No matter how minor the procedure, our goal is to bring all our resources to bear on creating a successful outcome.

We perform all types of surgery on cats both young and old. Experienced, well trained doctors and staff take the job of surgery very seriously. Every day we perform both elective and non elective procedures with careful planning and precision. For the surgical staff, their entire focus and their single purpose is to see to a successful outcome for every case.

Elective surgeries such as spays and neuters are performed in the morning. You will meet with the surgical nurse in the morning who will explain every step in the process. Your cat is admitted to the hospital and will be treated with the same kindness and compassion that we give to our own cats. Most of the time, your cat will go home that afternoon with instructions as to what to expect, when and how to administer any necessary medications, what to look for in the coming days, and when to return for follow up.

We also perform lifesaving emergency procedures, mass removals, orthopedic procedures, and organ biopsies. Any time your pet needs to have surgery, we will make sure you understand the pros and cons, the expected result, and any options available to reduce the risk and improve the outcome.
