When your pet needs surgery, you need to know that we take this very seriously. We love seeing the smile on your face when you know your pet has made a safe recovery from surgery. For each individual patient, surgery is a well choreographed and endlessly rehearsed procedure. We examine each step of the process in detail, plan every action, and prepare for any turn of events. No matter how minor the procedure, our goal is to bring all our resources to bear on creating a successful outcome.
Patient safety is Veterinarian Care .us job number 1. Understanding each individual’s unique qualities must come first. Expert assessment of the patient’s current health, past medical history, and a pre surgical examination is performed by your doctor. In most cases, pre-surgical testing is essential to an accurate assessment. Surgery is performed by a team who all has the same goal in mind – the safe delivery of your pet after a successful procedure. This team consists of your doctor, a surgical nurse, an anesthetist when indicated, and an ICU nurse to monitor your pet’s recovery.
Most of the veterinarians at Veterinarian Care .us perform many surgeries every day, we have been doing this since 1976, and we have been perfecting this process ever since. Experience cannot be imagined, cannot be bought, rather it must be earned. Through decades of procedures, we have earned valuable knowledge and skill that only experience can provide. For many types of surgeries, we have performed thousands of them successfully.
Some surgical procedures require specialized training, techniques, and equipment. Whenever this is in the patient’s best interest, we get the training, and we learn the techniques, and we purchase the equipment. Examples include bone fracture repair, Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) repair, endoscopy, ultrasound guided biopsy techniques, intra-operative cytology, avian surgery, and all surgical procedures in any pet smaller than a cat all the way down to a 6 gram baby turtle.
Our most commonly performed procedures include spay and neuter of all species, especially dogs and cats; oral surgery; ACL repair in dogs; biopsy; lump and bump removals; and abdominal surgeries in all species.
